It gives me comfort to listen to your words. I lost my son, he was just 23 years old, his first job out of college. He was so proud of himself, he landed a good job and had already received two promotions in one year. His life was just beginning, and I was feeling proud that he was my son. Our pain is still raw that such a thing could happen here in NYC. It does bring me comfort to know that there are people like you in the world who want to bring comfort to others in pain. "I hope you receive this email. A week ago my family took part in the memorials surrounding Sept. 11th. My brother-in-law was killed in Tower One. Our family will never be the same. Our hearts are broken. We miss this great man so much. It has been a tough week. Fortunately, I received your CD of "Halfway to Heaven" while at the Cantor Fitzgerald memorial service. Tonight was extremely difficult for me. Lots of tears which brought me to open your CD. Thankfully, I got to listen to your wonderful song. The memorials are always great, as odd as that sounds, because it is so comforting to be with other families. However, the 9-11 Anniversary takes a lot out of us. This weekend I am still feeling the effects. This road we travel is so difficult. Please know that your words and music were instrumental in comforting me. You helped me get through tonight. One day at a time, one foot in front of the other. Easier said than done sometimes. Halfway to heaven is the way I will try to see this awful tragedy. God bless you for your gift to the families." |
